It's not a secret, marketing has changed and it's continuing to change. The only thing that can be for sure is that you have to expect and adapt to the changes. The marketing mix couldn't be more relevant than it is today. Just when marketers were on the brink of tossing those old ideas, it's time to bring some of them back around. It's time to take a look at where your spending your dollars and what is the ROI?
Traditionally we looked at newspaper, radio, and TV as our main focuses for marketing. Of course with the rapid and continual growth of the internet and it's many facets branding is more important than ever. Do the same people that have seen your ad in the newspaper and on TV recognize you on Facebook, Google Ads, and Instagram. Are you researching your target markets and how they're using these platforms? Truth is, traditional media is not out of date, but it needs to now be combined with internet ads also.
Now just because we're looking at adding additional advertising to our mix, DOES NOT mean we should necessarily be adding additional dollars. The dollars need to balanced more appropriately through the different sources.
